SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

The Wales Township Board will hold a Special Meeting on 

July 15, 2021 (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss work hours of the Deputies/Secertaries.

The meeting is open to the public for comment.

2021 JULY BOARD OF REVIEW
MEETING SCHEDULE

Wales Township, St Clair County

 

The Wales Township Board of Review for July 2021 will be held in-person.

The township will post the information confirming whether the March BOR will meet in person on its notice on the billboard notices in front of the building and the township’s website.

The Wales Township July Board of Review will meet on the following dates: as required by MCL 211.30

  • Tuesday, July 20th, 2021, 9:30 am 

In accordance with the General Property Tax laws of the State of Michigan, the Board of Review convened under MCL 211.53b to correct mutual mistakes of fact and/or clerical errors or under MCL211.7u consider a request a poverty exemption or to consider a taxpayer requested Homeowner’s Principal Residence Exemption that was not on the assessment roll for the current year and/or the three (3) previous years, but was not denied by the assessor, the County, or the Department of Treasury, or under MCL211.27a (4) the assessor has determined that a taxable value uncapping should be reversed or qualifies for a Veterans Exemption.

WALES TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION WILL HOLD A SPECIAL MEETING ON MONDAY JUNE 28, 2021 AT THE WALES TOWNSHIP HALL, 1372 GOODELLS RD., WALES, MI 48027 AT 7:00 PM.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS MEETING IS TO REVIEW A SITE PLAN SUBMITTED BY GOODELLS BTS RETAIL, LLC FOR A DOLLAR GENERAL STORE, ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF LAPEER RD. AND WALES CENTER RD. ZONED B-2, GENERAL BUSINESS.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TOWNSHIP OF WALES-ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

REQUEST FOR VARIANCES

            Please take notice that the Wales Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on June 24, 2021 at 7:00 PM at the Wales Township Hall located at 1372 Wales Center Road, Wales, MI, 48027

            The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments from residents, property owners, and the general public regarding two variance requests from Matthew and Ashley Kettlewell and Jay Dusenberry for ZBA review.

The variance request for Kettlewell is for a dimensional variance to allow a pond to exist on the property even though the property is under the 5-acre requirement. This property is commonly known as: 2310 Cove Rd, Wales, MI, 48027. Parcel # 74-31-008-2008-000.

The Dusenberry variance request is to have main farm buildings for storage of crops and farm equipment. This property is commonly known as vacant property on Palms Road, Wales, MI, 48027. Parcel # 74-31-036-1010-000.

            Written comments are also encouraged and will be received at the Wales Township Hall, 1372 Wales Center Road, Wales, MI, 48027 prior to the June 24, 2021 meeting.
