NOTICE - TOWNSHIP OFFICE HOURS

WALES TOWNSHIP OFFICES WILL CLOSE DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS AND/OR WHEN THE MEMPHIS SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED.

The Wales Township Office is now back on regular hours and is open to the public effectiv as of June 15, 2020. There is also a drop box on the  side door to leave any documents , permit applications, etc. for your convenience. 

(POSSIBLE FUTURE CLOSINGS WILL BE LISTED HERE AND POSTED AT THE TOWNSHIP HALL)

All social distancing measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the public and our staff because of Covid-19. Thank You in advance for your understanding.

"Happy Birthday Wales Township"

On March 27th 2022 Wales Township will be 181 YEARS OLD.

The Township was organized on March 27, 1841, at which time it was considered one of the finest agricultural districts in St. Clair County. In 1890 the Township Hall was built and is now 132 years old, a lot of the building is still in the original materials.

TOWNSHIP PARK:  AN ALL PURPOSE BASKET BALL COURT HAS BEEN ADDED AND PARK BENCHES ARE COMING SOON. A WELL WITH A HAND-PUMP HAS BEEN INSTALLED NEXT TO THE PAVILION AT THE PARK. COME AND VISIT THE TOWNSHIP PARK AND THE PLAYSCAPE, THE CHILDREN WILL ENJOY IT. THE PARK IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE TOWNSHIP HALL ON WALES CENTER RD. THE PAVILION HAS PICNIC TABLES TO ENJOY A MEAL OR TO JUST SIT IN THE SHADE. ALSO AVAILABLE IS A GRILL AND WATER FROM THE HAND PUMP. A PORTA-POTTY IS AVAILABLE DURING THE WARMER WEATHER FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE.
